I
am a people person, and my professional experiences have included
everything from travel agent, flight attendant and advertising sales
representative to my current work as an Anacortes Realtor for the past
decade. That personal characteristic made it easy for me to create
Epicure, where our staff knows that good food brings people together in
wonderful ways. My goal for Epicure is to provide the quality tools and
equipment to make that happen.
People
often ask me why I opened Epicure. As a child I remember baking brownies
in my mom’s kitchen on Saturday nights and enjoying the sweet reward
for my work. In my childhood home, canning, baking, serving,
entertaining and trying new dinner concoctions always appealed to me, as
it does today. My cookbook collection makes my kitchen shelves groan,
and there are thousands of recipes I’m still eager to explore.
When
I met my husband and partner, Duncan, 15 years ago, he very much
impressed me with his incredible cooking skills. We eventually married
and began to cook together, and we have always enjoyed sharing each
other’s ideas in the kitchen. We often share that enjoyment with our
friends, who are always welcome to contribute their ideas to the menu of
the day and its preparation.
For
many years now I have found myself searching out “the kitchen store”
in any city I visit, as well as going to whichever Williams Sonoma or
Sur La Table outlet I can find. I love to check out the new gadgets or
the latest in kitchenware as well as add to my cookbook collection. My
love for these things, as well as encouraging conversations and
wonderful meals with the many “foodies” in Anacortes, ignited my
desire to open Epicure. I want to provide that “kitchen store
experience” for my neighbors, whether they are a novice or an
accomplished chef.
In
addition to a wide array of quality kitchen products, Duncan and I
believe we have brought together a top-notch staff that share our ideals
of ultimate service, attention and kitchen knowledge that Anacortes
demands and deserves. We all welcome your ideas and suggestions that
allow us to keep bringing people together in a well equipped kitchen and
across a well set dining table.
Please,
enjoy!
